As in, factoids. Quirky and fact-ish observations about the nature and reality.
Arteries & Atoms
I would love to go on about the 66,000 miles of veins, arteries and capillaries in the human body (2.5x the earth’s circumference) and that there are currently more than 500 trillion such miles (over 86 light-years long) walking around this earth. (I wonder how many miles there are in all species?) And, I might tell you that blood travels all of those 66,000 miles once every minute. I could even wax on about how there are more atoms in one human than there are stars in the entire universe (wax off). But I won’t amaze you with such factoids (or my ability to do a few Google searches).

The Book of DNA
One geneticist told me that if you typed out all the letters in one strand of human DNA and published it in the same format as one of those old-timer dictionaries (you know, a book – that ancient artifact pre-dating the advents of Google and the iPhone), it would be as tall as the Washington Monument. That’s a book with pages stacked 555-feet tall, all packed into one 6-foot long strand of invisible double helix! To get a sense of scale, that is 19 to possibly over 51 times all of the unique words in all the dictionaries in all the languages in the world, AND it includes the definition of each and every one of them! Please…pause to think about that.
